Farm Highlight | Santo Antonio Farm, Brazil

Brazil is the largest producer of coffee in the world and accounts for around 30% of global coffee production. The Santo Antonio farm is located in the region of Campos das Vertentes, in the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais. This region is known for its rich heritage of coffee production and the climate is ideal for producing high quality naturally processed coffees. The Santo Antonio farm is family owned and operated by 5th generation grower Pedro Gabarra and his father Joao Newton Teixeira. The farm has been producing excellent coffee since 1994.

The family has a strong connection to the land and to caring for the environment in which they operate. The farm maintains more than 40% of the total area for reforestation, demonstrating the respect they hold for the environment and the cultural history of their land. Not only do they have a huge respect for the land, but they also work hard to facilitate social initiatives in which they can work towards building a better relationship with the workers families and supporting a positive future for all. Coffee is their life and their passion and this reflects in the final product.

Minas Hill, the green bean wholesaler for this farm, have been proudly partnering with the Santo Antonio farm for over a decade. They work to facilitate a sustainable and transparent relationship between the producer and roaster. They also do an amazing job leading social initiatives that help facilitate growth and development in these areas, particularly striving for better renumeration, higher education and the general well-being of the producer and their family.
